RRS Discovery welcomes special visitors on board in Chile

The RRS Discovery made international news this week as she docked in Chile for a special port visit ahead of her next research expedition, 'COMICS'

On 9 January, Her Majesty's Ambassador, Fiona Clouder, ship's Captain, Antonio Gatti and NOC Associate Director of Innovation, Kevin Forshaw, hosted a reception for representatives from local government and the marine sector in Chile. Guests toured the ship and had the opportunity to network about science links between Chile and the UK. Read more on the GOV.UK website.

The following day the ship welcomed students from the University of Magallanes, PAR Explora Magallanes and eight junior scientists from the Future Junior Congress, to discover more about the science undertaken on board and the technology used in ocean research. There were a lot of great images shared by @UKinChile.
