Coming up in committees 23-02-2018 09:19 AM CET Monetary Dialogue: committee debates with ECB President, Mario Draghi ECON - 23-02-2018 - 09:16 The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs will hold a Monetary Dialogue with European Central Bank President Mario Draghi, on 26.02.18. The discussions will focus on amongst others, the interaction between euro-denominated payment systems and ECB monetary policy, and challenges ahead for the single currency. The issue of economic recovery with little signs of inflation acceleration and whether this is a transitory phenomenon or evidence of a structural change, will also be looked into. Further information ECON meeting agenda and documents ECON policy pages: Monetary Dialogues Fact sheets on the EMU - 2.6 UN Global Compacts on refugees and migrants - interparliamentary committee meeting LIBE - AFET - 23-02-2018 - 09:18 The Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will hold an inter-parliamentary meeting on the UN Global Compacts on refugees and migrants and the role of Parliaments, in association with the Foreign Affairs Committee. The aim is to strengthen the parliamentary dimension of the EU position, to support the work of the EEAS and of the Member States in the process leading to the adoption of the Compact, and to develop Parliament's position on negotiations. It will be held on 27.02.18. Further information Meeting programme, background information and link to subject file Council recommendations to 2016 Discharge: committee debate CONT - 21-02-2018 - 19:13 The Committee on Budgetary Control will hold a debate with Marinela Petrova, Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Finance, to go over the Council's recommendations on the 2016 discharge for budgetary implementation. The Committee will then look into the European Court of Auditors' (ECA) Special Report on rural development programming, together ECA member responsible, Janusz Wojciechowski. The meeting will take place on 26.02.18. The Committee's Tourism Task Force will hold a debate with Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, on 27.02.18, to go over the sector's key results in the EU in 2017 and main future challenges.
