Meetings with National Parliaments - CAP post-2020 - the future of food and farming: interparliamentary committee meeting - 24-04-2018 - Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development

The European Parliament's Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development (AGRI) organises a meeting with national Parliaments from 14:00 to 18:00 dedicated to an exchange of views on the upcoming Communication of the European Commission on the 'Future of Food and Farming' to be adopted in June 2018. This will predefine the framework of the future programming period as well as the effectiveness of the future Common Agriculture Policy.

Mr Czesław Adam SIEKIERSKI, AGRI Chair will open the meeting, which will be followed by interventions of guest speakers from the future Austrian EU Presidency, the French Senate, the European Commission and the Irish Houses of the Oireachtas.

National Parliaments will have the opportunity to express their views in regard to the future of the CAP with the members of AGRI on the main elements of the new agricultural policy with a special focus on implementation challenges at national level. The ICM will be part of the monthly ordinary meeting of AGRI and is organised with the support of the Directorate for Relations with National Parliaments.

Commissioner Phil Hogan
The Commissioner for agriculture and rural development Phil Hogan presented the Proposal for a Directive on unfair trading practices in business-to-business relationships in the food supply chain during the extraordinary AGRI meeting on 12 April.
