Fighting terrorism - new challenges and preventing financing: committee debates

The Committee on Terrorism will discuss new challenges in the fight against terrorism with Jean-Charles Brisard, from the French Centre for the Analysis of Terrorism, on 09.04.18. The Committee will also go over judicial cooperation in the fight against terrorism financing with Raphaël Malagnini, from the Belgian Prosecutor's Office. EU actions in the Commission's remit aimed at preventing terrorism financing will also be looked into together with Commissioner Pierre Moscovici.




European Central Bank Annual Report 2017: committee debate

The Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs will look into the European Central Bank's Annual Report for 2017, together with ECB Vice-President Vitor Constâncio, on 09.04.18. The ECB Annual Report will be published in 22 official EU languages on the ECB's website. It will include an annex with the ECB's response to comments and suggestions raised by the European Parliament in its resolution on the ECB Annual Report 2016.

Studies, in-depth analyses and briefings produced by Parliament's policy departments, the Economic Governance Support Unit and the Directorate for Impact Assessment and European Added Value are available online in the dedicated section for Supporting Analyses. Apart from searching specific publications, a selection of papers and upcoming events can be found under "Highlights". A monthly overview of the work of policy departments is given in "Periodicals", with key studies on thematic issues.

Find out more about the committees of the European Parliament by watching the new video-clip available now with subtitles in 23 languages. The committees are responsible for preparing Parliament's positions in EU policy-making. They actively contribute to the legislative agenda-setting and supervise the implementation of adopted legislation, the yearly budget and international agreements. They also organise hearings with experts and scrutinise other EU institutions and bodies.
