Yellow warning for North East England Rain Between 02:00 Tue 10 Apr and 15:00 Tue 10 Apr Headline Heavy rain is expected during Tuesday, especially during the morning. What to expect Spray and flooding on roads probably making journey times longer Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer Flooding of a few homes and business is likely Some interruption to power supplies and other services likely What should I do? Issued: Mon 9 Apr 10:54 Further details An area of persistent rain is expected to move northwards across northeast England during the early hours of Tuesday. Outbreaks of heavy rain can be expected at times before rain eases and clears northwards during Tuesday afternoon. Rainfall totals of 10-20 mm are likely and 30 mm is possible in a few locations with much of this falling within a period of around 6 hours. Due to the ground already being near saturated in these areas this brings an increased risk of surface water flooding.
