Deaths registered in England and Wales, provisional: week ending 21 July 2017

The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in the week ending 21 July 2017 (week 29) was 9,113; this represents a decrease of 263 deaths registered in comparison with the previous week (week 28).

The average number of deaths for the corresponding week over the previous 5 years was 8,946.

Moveable public holidays, when register offices are closed, affect the number of registrations made in the published weeks and in the corresponding weeks in previous years.
