Welcome to the latest edition of the monthly PHE Statistics bulletin.

PHE Statistics is a summary of the latest official statistics releases published by PHE, arranged by topic. The bulletin will also feature any recent ad hoc statistical publications.

Bulletins will routinely be published on the first Tuesday of each month or as soon as possible afterwards.

General public health 

The latest quarterly PHOF and Health Profiles, published today, shows:

    • rates of first time entrants to the youth justice system and first time offending at all ages have reduced in 2016
    • the proportion of sessions missed by school children reduced, along with the proportion of working days lost due to sickness
    • vaccination coverage increased for those aged 2 to 4 years and those in clinical at risk groups in 2016 to 2017 but fell for those aged 65 and over
    • in the last four years, nearly three quarters of the eligible population had been offered an NHS Health Check, with around half taking up the offer.
    • approximately two thirds of the estimated dementia cases in 2017 so far,  have been diagnosed.
