Leisure time in the UK: 2015

Across all parts of the UK, men spent more time on leisure activities than women (an average of six hours and nine minutes compared with five hours and 29 minutes respectively).

The gender gap was greatest in the North West of England (men spent seven hours more than women on leisure time) and smallest in Northern Ireland (identical for both men women).

People in South East England spent the most time on leisure activities (five hours and two minutes per week), compared with Northern Ireland, where they spent the least (four hours and 22 minutes per week).

Deaths registered by area in England and Wales, monthly provisional: Sept 2017

The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in September 2017 was 40,108; this represents a decrease of 972 deaths in comparison with the previous month and a decrease of 243 deaths in comparison with the same month in 2016.

Deaths registered in England and Wales, provisional: week ending 13 October 2017

The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in the week ending 13 October 2017 (week 41) was 9,940; this represents an increase of 162 deaths registered in comparison with the previous week (week 40).

The average number of deaths for the corresponding week over the previous 5 years was 9,411.
