Teams from the NOC's Marine Geoscience group and BOSCORF are spending the next four days talking to school groups and the public at Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. The focus of one of the displays is deep-sea mining. Visitors are being asked, based on the information we have provided, whether they, in the position of the International Seabed Authority, would vote to protect, or prospect. The BOSCORF team are displaying a deep-sea core showing the evidence of massive tsunamis to hit the coast of Scotland and giving visitors the opportunity to see scaled up 3D printed forams (single-celled organisms). |
