Overseas travel and tourism: August 2017 provisional results

Overseas residents made 3.9 million visits to the UK in August 2017; this has increased by 5% when compared with August 2016.
UK residents made 8.9 million visits abroad in August 2017; this has decreased by 3% when compared with August 2016.
Overseas residents spent £2.8 billion on their visits to the UK in August 2017; this is an increase of 3% when compared with August 2016.
UK residents spent £6.2 billion on their visits abroad in August 2017, a 1% increase when compared with August 2016.
