South Korea labels 2015 'comfort women' reparations deal with Japan as flawed
South Korea's Moon Jae-in has written off a reparations deal for women forced into wartime sexual slavery, which Seoul's previous government reached with Japan. Moon said that the deal failed to meet victims' demands.
Chinese Communist Party takes control of paramilitary police
The move puts the 660,000 strong paramilitary force under President Xi Jinping's control. It comes as Xi consolidates Communist Party control and modernizes the military.
