The next ENVI Committee meeting will be held on Thursday 11 January 2018 (09.00 - 12.30) in Brussels.

As of 1 July 2015 the ENVI Committee decided to fully implement the paperless project for meetings. Therefore, there will be no more paper documents available in the meeting room. All the documents will be available through the "Meeting documents" tab under "Useful documents" on this webpage.

Commissioner Christos Stylianides discusses the worsening humanitarian crises in Syria and Iraq as a result of the violence by the Islamic State.
On 11 January 2018, the ENVI committee will hold an exchange of views with Commissioner Christos Stylianides, Commissioner for Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Management, aiming at presenting the Commission proposal on amending the Union Civil Protection Mechanism.

The proposal is intended to introduce some targeted changes to Council Decision No 1313/2013/EU on a Union Civil Protection Mechanism, under which the European Union supports, coordinates and supplements the action of Member States in the field of civil protection to prevent, prepare for and respond to natural and man-made disasters within and outside the Union.
