After news of Libyan slave markets went around world in 2017 many migrants stuck in North Africa decided to return home. However, those returning to Nigeria complain that they face the same problems they had left behind.
Burundi welcomes refugees fleeing DR Congo violence
Thousands of refugees have flooded into Burundi to escape a fresh outbreak of fighting in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The UNHCR has praised locals for welcoming their traumatized neighbors.
Miners rescued from Beatrix gold mine in South Africa
The rescue team faced the difficult task of bringing up hundreds of workers one at a time from the 700 to 2,200 meter deep mine. The workers had been trapped in the Beatrix mine since Wednesday evening.
