07-02-2018 01:38 PM CET In 2017 the International Women's Day was marked with an inter-parliamentary meeting organized by FEMM with the theme "Women's economic empowerment: Let's act together!". The event took place in Brussels on 8 March and 9 March 2017. The theme of economic empowerment dominated the discussions and the workshops. FEMM IWD 2017 provided a global forum to the national gender equality leaders for exchange of experiences and best practices in advancing the women's economic situation, while also accentuating the issue on the European and global equality agenda.
