Researchers solve a materials mystery key to next-generation electronic devices

Hyungwoo Lee looks inside a thin film deposition system

Writing today in the journal Nature Materials, Chang-Beom Eom and his collaborators provided evidence of a hole gas coexisting with 2-D electron gas. They designed an ultrathin material, known as a thin film structure, specifically for this research.
