Coming up in committees 07-02-2018 07:46 PM CET Digital Single Market: committee mission to Spain IMCO - 06-02-2018 - 18:50 A delegation of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will go to Madrid to discuss the Digital Single Market strategy and the on-going implementation of the web accessibility directive. The delegation will also look into initiatives to boost the market for accessible products and services, in the context of the on-going negotiations of the EU legislative proposal on accessibility of products and services in the internal market. The mission will take place from 12.02-14.02.18. Further information Fact Sheets on the internal market - 2.1 EU financial support in Ireland: committee mission BUDG - 06-02-2018 - 18:49 A delegation of the Committee on Budgets will go to Dublin on 12-14.02.18, to look at the concrete use of EU programmes in Ireland and assess the quality of implementation and effectiveness of EU financial support. It will meet national authorities and stakeholders to discuss how smart and inclusive growth can be promoted even more effectively through the EU budget and the next Multiannual Financial Framework. It will also look into a wide variety of EU interventions in Ireland. Further information Fact Sheets on EU financing - 1.4 Frontex operations: mission to Bulgaria LIBE - 06-02-2018 - 18:50 A delegation of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs will go to Bulgaria to look at the on-going Frontex operations at the Bulgarian land border with Turkey. Frontex supports Bulgaria in border checks and intelligence gathering at border crossing points, border surveillance, the gathering of information, and in screening, fingerprinting and registration of migrants, amongst others. The visit will take place from 12.02 to 14.02.18. Further information Fact Sheets compilation on migration, asylum and management of external borders Women's rights in Hungary: committee mission FEMM - 06-02-2018 - 18:49 The Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality is sending a delegation to Budapest to observe the situation of women's rights in Hungary. It will meet national authorities, the civil society and academic experts to look into the status of the Istanbul convention, sexual and reproductive rights, women's participation in political and economic life, work-life balance, and the situation of Roma women. The visit will take place from 12.02 to 14.02.18. Further information Thematic Digest on the Istanbul Convention Thematic Digest on women's economic empowerment Fact Sheet equality between men and women Economic and trade cooperation in the Andean countries: committee mission INTA - 06-02-2018 - 18:50 A delegation of the International Trade Committee will go to Colombia and Peru on 12-16.02.18, to assess the progress made in the implementation of the trade agreement and in enhancing the economic and trade cooperation with the Andean countries. The mission will also focus on the implementation of the action plans on sustainable development, submitted by the governments of Colombia and Peru. The findings will feed into the Committee´s implementation report on the FTA with the two countries. Further information Fact Sheets on EU external trade relations - 5.2 Electricity networks, renewable energy, gas, oil: mission to Austria ITRE - 07-02-2018 - 19:45 The Committee in Industry, Research and Energy will send a delegation to Austria to look into the preparation and implementation of national and European legislation on electricity markets and renewable energy, operation of gas networks, oil refining technology and quantum technology. The delegation will also visit an oil refinery, gas and oil production site, gas hub, electricity production site, and research and development sites.
