Highlights - Regulation on competition in aviation (868/2004) - vote - Committee on Transport and Tourism 08-03-2018 02:24 PM CET The Committee will vote on the amendments tabled to Mr Pieper's report on a regulation (EC) No 868/2004 intended to defend the Union air carriers against unfair practices of some third countries. The new amended proposal intends to set clear rules for the investigation and adoption of redressive measures and to find a way to involve the European Parliament in the procedure. Mr Pieper managed to find a dozen of compromises based on over 300 amendments tabled in TRAN and ECON committees. The vote should define whether notions such as Union interest and threat of injury should be added to the proposal and decide on crucial issues like conditions to open investigations, deadlines and competence to impose redressive measures.
