Revised Financial Regulation: joint committee vote

The Committees on Budgets and on Budgetary Control will vote on the outcome of the inter-institutional negotiations on the revision of the Financial Regulation. The latest revision covers not only the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the EU, but also corresponding amendments to the sectoral financial rules contained in 15 legislative acts on multiannual programmes. The meeting will take place on 23.04.18.




2017 EU Justice Scoreboard: committee vote

The Committee on Legal Affairs will vote on its response to the European Commission's EU Justice Scoreboard for 2017, on 24.04.18. Unlike previous editions, the 2017 Scoreboard looks into consumers' access to justice and the channels used to lodge complaints against companies. It also shows the length of criminal court proceedings relating to money-laundering offences. The Committee will also vote on the report regarding the replacement of Annex A of the insolvency proceedings regulation.




Free flow of non-personal data in the EU: committee debate

The Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will look into the amendments tabled to the draft report regarding the free flow of non-personal data on 24.04.18. The overarching aim of the Commission's proposal is to unlock the potential of the EU data market by creating a more competitive and integrated internal market for data storage and processing services. At the heart of the proposal is a ban on national rules requiring data to be stored or processed in a specific Member State.




Defence Industrial Development, future industrial policy: Structured Dialogue

The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy will hold a Structured Dialogue with Commissioner Vice-President Katainen, responsible for jobs, growth, investment and competitiveness, on 23.04.18. The discussions are expected to focus on the ongoing negotiations on the Defence Industrial Development Programme, the planned industrial policy activities, and the preparation of the post-2020 programmes that fall within the Committee's remit.




Voting rights of British citizens abroad, air quality: committee debates on petitions

The Petitions Committee will look into a series of petitions on air quality and air pollution, and the associated public health issues, during its meeting of 23.04.18. The day after, it will discuss the voting rights of British citizens prior to and following Brexit, based on petitions dealing with the denial of national voting rights to UK citizens living abroad, and the exclusion of British expatriates from the vote on UK EU membership.




Global arms exports trends: committe debate

The Subcommittee on Security and Defence will hold a discussion on global arms exports trends, ahead of the next European Parliament resolution on the implementation of the Common Position on Arms Exports. The meeting will take place on 25.04.18 with representatives of the Working Party on Conventional Arms Export of the EEAS, of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, of the Centre Delàs for Peace Studies in Barcelona, and of the Group for Research and Information on Peace and Security.
