People, population and community Annual Assessment of ONS's progress towards an Administrative Data Census post-2021 ONS's second assessment of its ability to move to an Administrative Data Census in the next decade. Deaths registered in England and Wales, provisional: week ending 9 June 2017 The provisional number of deaths registered in England and Wales in the week ending 9 June 2017 (week 23) was 9,766; this represents an increase of 1,434 deaths registered in comparison with the previous week (week 22). The average number of deaths for the corresponding week over the previous 5 years was 9,170. The increase in the deaths registered in the week ending 9 June 2017 is likely to be due to the closure of register offices over the spring bank holiday in the previous week. This pattern is similar to previous years. The IT industry contributed nearly £55 billion to UK economy in 2016 and makes up 4% of UK service economy. In 2016 just 20% of those taking a Computing GCSE exam were female. The British Computing Society is concerned that a lack of interest in computing at GCSE level will lead to a shortage of skilled workers in the growing industry in future. Is it right?
