Hepatitis A pre-exposure immunisation recommendations on the PHE website have been updated in the light of an ongoing hepatitis A outbreak primarily affecting men who have sex with men (MSM) as well as an ongoing global hepatitis A vaccine shortage. - PHE rabies risk assessment for Greece updated
PHE has changed its rabies risk assessment for the whole of Greece to "no risk" – whereas two northern regions had been categorised as high risk in 2014 – as no animals with rabies have been detected since May 2014. - Upcoming zoonoses workshop (September 2017)
A PHE one-day multidisciplinary training workshop on risk assessment, investigation and control of zoonoses is being held on 26 September in Bristol, intended for animal health professionals, local authority/environmental health professionals and other health protection specialists. The course promotes inter-agency collaboration and joint working, awareness of risk pathways, informs decision making on the types of response required in different settings and allows participants to apply 'good practice' guidelines to practical case study scenarios.
