Invasive Cancer Incidence, 2004–2013, and Deaths, 2006–2015, in Nonmetropolitan and Metropolitan Counties — United States

CDC's MMWR and Medscape are proud to introduce a new FREE continuing education (CE) activity that describes US incidence of and deaths from cancer during the last decade: Invasive Cancer Incidence, 2004–2013, and Deaths, 2006–2015, in Nonmetropolitan and Metropolitan Counties — United States.

This activity is intended for public health officials, hematologists/ oncologists, internists, family medicine practitioners, nurses, obstetricians/gynecologists, pulmonologists, and other clinicians who treat and manage patients with or at risk for cancer.

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to

  1. Compare US incidence of invasive cancer in nonmetropolitan and metropolitan counties from 2004 to 2013, based on a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) surveillance study
  2. Assess cancer mortality in US nonmetropolitan and metropolitan counties from 2006 to 2015, based on a CDC surveillance study
  3. Describe evidence-based strategies to help achieve Healthy People 2020 objectives to lower cancer morbidity and mortality
