16-02-2018 09:09 AM CET European Parliamentary Week 2018: inter-parliamentary committee meetings ECON - EMPL - BUDG - 16-02-2018 - 09:07 The European Parliamentary Week 2018 takes place on 19-20.02.18, bringing together parliamentarians from all over the EU to discuss economic, social and budgetary issues. The Committees on Economic and Monetary Affairs, on Employment and Social Affairs, and on Budgets are holding specific inter-parliamentary meetings. The topics of debate include: tax policy, the Banking Union, digitalisation and the future of work, inequalities between Member States, the post-2020 MFF, and own-resources. Implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan: committee debate with Commission ENVI - 16-02-2018 - 09:08 The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will hold its bi-annual discussion on the implementation of the Circular Economy Action Plan with Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen, responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, on 20.02.18. The debate is expected to focus on the new set of measures adopted by the Commission in January 2018, including the European Strategy for Plastics in a Circular Economy, and on the other upcoming initiatives. Single Market Strategy, Digital Single Market: Structured Dialogues IMCO - 16-02-2018 - 09:08 The Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection will hold a Structured Dialogue with Commissioner Bieńkowska on 21.02.18, to look into the implementation of the Single Market Strategy (Goods package, SMIT, Single Digital Gateway, etc.). A Structured Dialogue with Commissioner Gabriel will then be held on 22.02.18, to discuss the implementation of the Digital Single Market, including upcoming initiatives on online platforms and negotiations on the free flow of data and cybersecurity. Revision of the Gas Directive: public hearing ITRE - 15-02-2018 - 09:27 The Committee on Industry, Research and Energy will hold a public hearing on the revision of the gas directive on 21.02.18. It will focus on the proposed extension of the Directive's provision to gas pipelines to and from third countries, and on the possible impact on the EU's internal gas market and the security of gas supply. The hearing is being organised in light of the Committee's on-going work on the recent proposal to amend current rules on the internal market in natural gas. Environment: committee debate on petitions PETI - 15-02-2018 - 09:29 The Petitions Committee will look into a series of petitions on environmental matters from across the EU. Matters under consideration include the alleged non-implementation of the Water Framework Directive, human exposure to pesticides, and the possible negative environmental and public health effects of high-voltage power lines. The meeting will take place on 21.02.18. 2016 Discharge: committee debates, ECA Belgian candidate: hearing CONT - 15-02-2018 - 09:27 The Committee on Budgetary Control will go over the draft reports concerning the budget implementation of Other Institutions, the Agencies, the Joint Undertakings, and the European Commission for 2016, during its meetings of 19-20.02.18. It will also hold a hearing with Belgian candidate for membership of the European Court of Auditors, Annemie Turtelboom, on 20.02.18.
