Coming up in committees 21-02-2018 07:15 PM CET European services e-card, media pluralism and freedom: committee votes JURI - 20-02-2018 - 18:18 The Committee on Legal Affairs will vote on its opinion on the proposed European services e-card, on 22.02.18. The proposed Regulation was presented jointly with a Directive and is complementary to other policy initiatives in the context of services announced in the Single Market Strategy, to prevent the introduction of barriers to cross-border service provision at national level. The Committee will also vote on its opinion on media pluralism and media freedom in the EU. Further information JURI meeting agenda and documents Fighting extremist content: committee debate TERR - 20-02-2018 - 18:18 The Committee on Terrorism will hold a debate with Ahmed Abbadi, Secretary General of the Rabita Mohammedia des Oulémas (Mohammadia League of Scholars), on 22.02.18. The organisation, linked to the Ministry of Islamic Affairs of Morocco, has launched an interactive internet site addressed to the youth, aiming at countering the extremist online content. The organisation promotes more moderate approach to faith and is active in 25 countries. Further information TERR meeting agenda and documents European Medicines Agency post-Brexit relocation: committee mission ENVI - 20-02-2018 - 18:20 The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will send a fact-finding mission to Amsterdam, where the European Medicines Agency (EMA) is to be relocated after Brexit, on 22.02.18. The delegation will visit the temporary location and the future headquarters for the EMA to ascertain that the transfer process is proceeding as planned and without interruption. The findings of the delegation will provide input to the discussion on the relocation proposal. The Committee will then look into the European Court of Auditors' (ECA) Special Report on rural development programming, together ECA member responsible, Janusz Wojciechowski. The meeting will take place on 26.02.18. The Committee's Tourism Task Force will hold a debate with Zurab Pololikashvili, Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization, on 27.02.18, to go over the sector's key results in the EU in 2017 and main future challenges.
