Five adults were in critical condition early Tuesday after a two-car crash in San Francisco, authorities said. The incident was reported just before 6 a.m. in a residential area near the intersection of Gough and Pine streets, according to the San Francisco Fire Department. Fire crews used the "Jaws of Life," or cutters, to extricate the injured people from the vehicles, officials said. The victims, who were not identified, were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with critical injuries. The cause of the collision is under investigation.
