On 14 March, the ENVI Committee will hold an EoV with Commissioner Bieńkowska, Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs, on the EMIS (emission measurements in the automotive sector) Committee Recommendation follow up in the field of ENVI competences. The EMIS Committee adopted a report on 28 February 2017 endorsed by the plenary on 4 April 2017.

Being the responsible committee for one of the two key pieces of legislation that EMIS investigated (Regulation (EC) No 715/2007 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 20 June 2007 on type approval of motor vehicles with respect to emissions from light passenger and commercial vehicles (Euro 5 and Euro 6)), the ENVI Committee is also responsible for a substantial part of the follow-up to the EMIS recommendations.

Relocation of European Medicines Agency (EMA) logo
On 12 March, ENVI will vote on the above La Via report. As a consequence of UK withdrawal from the EU, EMA has to be relocated from London to one of the 27 Member States. On 20 November 2017, the 27 selected Amsterdam for the new EMA seat where it would be first transferred to a temporary location and only after to its final headquarters (Vivaldi Building).

A delegation of six ENVI MEPs carried out a fact-finding mission to Amsterdam on Thursday 22 February to visit EMA's temporary location and future headquarters and to meet with Dutch authorities. The ENVI Rapporteur regrets that the European Parliament was not fully and properly involved in the EMA relocation decision and calls on the UK and Dutch governments to cover all the costs linked to the double relocation.
