Sessions vows to fight 'unconstitutional' sanctuary laws in Sacramento speech

SACRAMENTO - A day after suing California over its pro-immigrant sanctuary laws, U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions told an audience of law enforcement officers Wednesday that he would use "every power" at his disposal to stop what he called a state and local effort to obstruct justice. "We are going to fight these irrational, unfair, and unconstitutional policies that have been imposed on you and our federal officers," Session said. "It cannot be that someone who illegally crosses the border and two days later arrives in Sacramento, Dubuque, Louisville, Central Islip, New York is home free, never to be removed.
