Highlights - Approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles: vote in Plenary - Committee on the Internal Market and Consumer Protection 13-04-2018 11:38 AM CEST n December 2017, Parliament, Commission and Council reached a provisional agreement on the proposal in trilogue negotiations including, amongst others, to remove the proposed time limit on the validity of type-approval certificates, requiring Member States to provide sufficient funds for market surveillance activities and to finance type-approval activities from fees levied on manufacturers, empowering the Commission to carry out assessments of the procedures put in place by type-approval authorities in Member States. This agreement will be discussed in Plenary on 17 and voted on 18 April.
