The proposed revised guidelines for the employment policies of the Member States have been amended to align the text with the principles of the European pillar of social rights, with a view to improving Europe's competitiveness and making it a better place to invest, create jobs and foster social cohesion. In the draft report, Tatjana Zdanoka (Greens/EFA, LV) suggested approving the Commission proposal with 36 amendments and Members tabled 143 additional amendments. The new rapporteur is Mitroslavs Mitrofanovs (Greens/EFA, LV).
