Democrats argue that the month-long spending bill proposed by the House fails to protect immigrants brought to the U.S. illegally as children and doesn't address a broad array of other domestic spending priorities. Several Senate Republicans also said they would also oppose the stop-gap bill, indicating there are not enough votes to pass it in the Senate.
