Breaking: 'It was very sad when we heard about it': Trump says he was surprised by abuse allegations against Rob Porter, former staff secretary

  President Trump said he hopes Rob Porter "will have a great career ahead of him," in his first public comments on reports his former staff secretary abused two ex-wives. "Certainly he's also very sad now," Trump said. "He also ... says he's innocent and I think you have to remember that." The White House has come under fire for allowing Porter to stay on his job even after knowing the abuse allegations were delaying his security clearance.
