European Parliament Alerts from the Budgets committee

On 26 March, the general rapporteur for the 2019 EU budget, Daniele Viotti (S&D, IT), will visit the ENVI and LIBE committees to discuss their priorities and expectations for next year's budget. This kicks off a wider tour of Parliament, which will take the rapporteur to 17 committees over the course of March, April and May. The committees' expert input will allow the rapporteur to shape his position ahead of the adoption of the Draft Budget by the Commission, expected in late May.

Euro Area
On 21 March, BUDG and ECON Members participated in a workshop entitled "A fiscal capacity to strengthen and enlarge the Euro Area - Budgetary aspects for stabilising Economic and Monetary Union". The workshop was the opportunity for Members to hear several experts and give their input on the budgetary aspects of the European Commission package for completing Europe's Economic and Monetary Union. Experts' presentations will be followed by a debate.

21-03-2018 - "A fiscal capacity to strengthen and enlarge the Euro Area - Budgetary aspects for stabilising Economic and Monetary Union" - Joint BUDG/ECON Workshop

In order for the Parliament to give its own input and hear more expert on the budgetary aspects of the European Commission package for completing Europe's Economic and Monetary Union, a workshop on this issue will take place on Wednesday, 21 March 2018, 14:30 pm - 17:00 pm, European Parliament, Paul-Henry Spaak Building (PHS) room 3C050, Brussels. A debate will follow all presentations.
