Coming up in committees 22-03-2018 09:13 AM CET Financial Crimes Special Committee: constituent meeting TAX3 - 21-03-2018 - 09:07 Parliament's new Special Committee on Financial Crimes, Tax Evasion and Tax Avoidance (TAXE 3) will hold its constituent meeting on 22.03.18 in order to elect its Chair and Vice-Chairs, making up its bureau. The Special Committee was set up to build on and complement the work carried out by the TAXE 1 and TAXE 2 special committees, and the PANA inquiry committee. It is composed of 45 members and has 12-month mandate. The hearing will take place on 22.03.18 following a high number of petitions received on this issue. The discussions will focus on the specificities of the EU regulatory approval process for EDCs, and whether it could be conceived differently in the future. Further information Event page Fact Sheet on public health Building capacities for resilience against terrorism within the EU: hearing TERR - 21-03-2018 - 09:08 The Committee on Terrorism will hold a hearing on building capacities for resilience, with the participation of French journalist and writer Nicolas Hénin, who is a former ISIS hostage in Syria and President of the NGO "Action Resilience". The issue of developing and fostering civil society resilience against radicalisation and terrorism, while safeguarding public liberties and fundamental rights will be looked into together with other experts. The meeting will take place on 22.03.18. Further information Hearing programme Commission Work Programme and priorities: Structured Dialogue ENVI - 22-03-2018 - 09:11 The Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety will hold a Structured Dialogue with Karmenu Vella, Commissioner for Environment, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, on 26.03.18. The discussion is set to focus on the evaluation and implementation of the Commission Work Programme and the priorities up to the end of the legislature. The aim is to gather expert input from 17 parliamentary committees in order to start preparing a position ahead of the Commission's Draft Budget, expected in May. The first of such discussions will take place in the Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety, and in the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.
