US shows no sincerity on tackling trade issues: official
China will take "all necessary measures" to safeguard its legal interests in foreign trade, the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) said on Thursday amid fears of an imminent trade war with the US.
On the warpath
China can also take other measures to counteract the issue. "For example, if the US were to make any moves to elevate its relations with China's Taiwan, the mainland would have no choice but to respond with counter moves that will deeply impact the US," Liu Weidong, a research fellow at the Institute of American Studies of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, told the Global Times.
